Thistle and Wren’s Story

Meet Candace, owner of Thistle and Wren. Thistle and Wren is a boutique-inspired consignment collective. They focus on selective quality brands and curating local and Canadian small business vendors.

Located in the wonderful community of Fernwood, Thistle and Wren opened it’s doors for the first time on September 13th in 2016 and has become a well known and loved consignment store here in Victoria BC.
After working for the government and a non-profit organization here in Victoria, Candace decided it was time for a career change after having her second baby. After taking a few months to plan her adventure, she decided to open her own shop, following her passion for fashion, green movements, recycling and supporting local businesses.
Candace wanted her store to have a clean, organized and open feel to it, akin to a gallery or collective of sorts. Thistle & Wren is a unique consignment collective model offering both consignment as well as Canadian makers.

Share My Story Thistle and Wren

If you have been to Thistle & Wren, you know what I mean when I say that it really does look like a boutique rather than a consignment store. Candace has managed to showcase every one of her 22 vendors beautifully while also offering caliber consignment.
When you consign your articles, you can use your profit for any items in the shop. (This makes so much sense especially if you think about, how often babies actually wear an item before they have grown “wayyyy too fast” and don’t fit it anymore.)

Thistle & Wren also supports a local charity (Young moms YMCA program) where they donate all of the clothing and items that don’t make it out on the shelves. Thanks to all of you local moms and dads supporting Thistle & Wren, they can provide enough items to justify a weekly pickup for this incredible YMCA program helping so many families in need.

If you follow Thistle & Wren on their Social Media platforms, you already know about the amazing Workshops that Candace and local makers offer to the public. This is an incredible opportunity for local makers to showcase their skills and for the attendees to learn something new and add to their skill-set while shopping 50% off consignment and drinking some bubbly.
Additionally, every three months there is a special evening shopping event, called sip and ship (I absolutely love the name ?) which is an evening of shopping for 50% off consignment and bubbly.

Another exciting note I’d like to add is that Thistle & Wren will be at the Wind and Willows fair on May 5th. During this event, all of the Consignment items in the store will be a whopping 50% off. Yup you heard that right! This deal is only available in-store and only for the consignment items, not the vendor items displaying in the store.
So, make sure you visit Candace at the fair aaand visit their store on May 5th.
