Sweet Delights Story

Meet Barb, owner of family-run business Sweet Delights. A unique and charming Candy Store in Victoria BC.

Barb and her husband Ken opened the doors to their Quaint Candy Store in 2011.
Knowing it was time for a change they left everything they knew and did the only logical thing for most any Canadian… they moved to the island with their two kids in tow. They started their adventure by selling Candy Bouquets but decided quickly that they wanted to open a franchise and sell not only the candy bouquets but candy from all over the world. Which is brilliant in my eyes.

And I might be biased here being a candy and chocolate lover, but being able to go into a local store and try new candies from any part of the world or resorting back to an all-time childhood favourite, just makes every day that much happier.
When we asked barb what she loves most about what she does she said

“The most important thing are the people. Everyone who comes into the shop is happy and total strangers start engaging in conversations over candies and chocolate while searching for the right candy. Everyone loves candy and has happy memories associated with them.”

And we couldn’t agree more with this. A childhood memory, cozy evenings snuggled up on the couch eating your favourite candy, going on a road trip knowing all the goodies that are waiting for you along the way… It makes people happy.

(I know this to be very true for me at least. Me being from Germany my heart always beats a little faster when I come in here and see Milka chocolate or Haribo candy displayed in one of the shelves)Talking about the shelves, they where all custom made by her husband Ken and painted in the favourite colours from each family member.

So if you ever find yourself in need of some chocolate or even sugar-free candy you know where to go.
But be prepared, you will leave with a smile on your face and some Sweet Delights in your hand.
