Kettle and Hive’s Story

Meet Trish, owner of Kettle and Hive. Kettle and Hive offers a convenient and all-natural way of enjoying an old-time favourite, honey & lemon tea.

Before Trish started Kettle and Hive, she took about a year perfecting her honey lemon herbal tea concentrate recipes and working on the packaging and labeling. The response she got from everyone who tasted her fantastic twist on this old-fashioned recipe where so incredible, that she decided there was no other way than to bring Kettle and Hive to life.

Share My Story Kettle and Hive

Trish started her adventure with Kettle and Hive last year in May. The first market that Kettle and Hive was introduced to “the world” (let’s be honest Vancouver Island is it’s own little world ;) ) was the James Bay market. From there she attended about 4 markets a week. Now, not even a year after starting her business, Trish is offering her products at Peppers Foods, Melinda’s Biscotti and the Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse, as well as attending various markets and shows.

We had the pleasure of meeting Trish and tasting her delicious creations at the Crafted Farmhouse Market a few weeks ago. And let me tell you, that we fell in love right away!

Her Lemon & Honey herbal tea concentrate comes in little jars and is made with fresh lemons, locally sourced honey and Organic Spices. The different spices Trish uses are Turmeric, Cayenne, Ginger and original which is a little sweeter than the rest.
Thanks to the naturally occurring pectin in the fresh lemons it pretty much looks like jam which makes it even more convenient! All you have to do is take a spoon full of this yummy concentrate, add it too hot water and it becomes honey lemon tea.
You may think that this Honey Lemon concentrate would only be helpful during the winter months or when you are feeling under the weather. But I guarantee you, that once you have tried this incredible herbal tea concentrate, it will convince you otherwise – because you can drink it iced as well! Last year Trish added a little twist to her little jars of magic and made a series of cocktails over the summer. She added a scoop of the turmeric honey lemon tea concentrate with frozen mangoes and white rum and made a Bellini, which turned out to be deliciously bright and beautiful. (How delicious does that sound!?)

And we did hear whispers that there may be some more summer cocktail recipes in the works. But I guess we will have to wait and see for the summer markets to roll around. (Or you could message her and ask ?)
Another exciting addition to the herbal tea concentrates Trish creates will be a medicinal series, which would be quite strong and spicy and have ginger, cayenne, turmeric, lemon & honey for example.
You probably want to run to your car right away to go and get yourself some of this amazing tea concentrate, but even there Trish has you covered. She will deliver it straight to your home (if you live in the greater Victoria area) so you can stay all cozied up waiting for a sweet & smiling Trish to deliver it straight to you.

So, make sure to visit and follow Kettle and Hives Facebook and Instagram accounts, so you can stay tuned for all future markets and recipes that Trish has coming our way..
